Abdul-Fataw Mumuni is a development professional, humanitarian practitioner, nutrition specialist, educator, social entrepreneur and organizational leader with multidisciplinary experience across Ghana's education, health, nutrition, international NGO, humanitarian and private sectors.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Early career in education and community nutrition
Abdul-Fataw began his professional career with the Ghana Education Service, serving as a Mathematics Teacher for one year and Head Teacher for two years, before working as a Mathematics Teacher at Success Senior High School, Tamale. He subsequently gained two years of practical clinical and community nutrition experience as an Intern and Volunteer Nutritionist at Tamale Teaching Hospital, and later served as a Volunteer Nutrition Officer at Salaga District Hospital.
INTERNATIONAL NGO & DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE
Over eight years in international development programming
Abdul-Fataw has over eight years of experience in international NGO and development programming, including serving as a Nutrition Facilitator with the UNOPS Millennium Villages Project and as a Health Coordinator with Plan International Ghana. These roles provided extensive experience in community mobilization, health and nutrition programming, programme coordination, stakeholder engagement and integrated community development.

LEADING VIRD FOUNDATION
Strategic leadership for humanitarian, development and social investment programmes
Today, Abdul-Fataw serves as Executive Director of VIRD Foundation (Vantageway Islamic Relief & Development Foundation), providing strategic leadership for the Foundation's humanitarian, development and social investment programmes, including the flagship VIRD BARAKA Community Transformation Programme.
